Get to know the people behind Starlight Dance Studios
Karla F.IDT

Karla started dancing at the age of 5; throughout the years she competed in various festival and shows, as well as working her way through her dance exams. She has been teaching for the past 9 years during which she has thoroughly enjoyed watching her students grow into strong performers. After gaining her advanced grades she chooses to continue onto her teaching qualifications, where she qualified with the Independent Dance Training. She has recently become principal of Starlight Dance Works where she knows she can continue to build a happy environment for the students to learn and enjoy their time spent with us.

Kyla

Hi ! I’m Kyla Tidiman, I have had a passion for dance since the age of 3. I have had the privilege of dancing with starlight dance works since 2017. I love many styles of dance, my favourite being ballet, where I am also a member of the Chelmsford ballet company. I currently enjoy helping out and teaching at starlight dance works.

Elizabeth

I’ve been dancing since I was 4 years old and have a passion for teaching and performing. My enjoyment for performing has led to opportunities such as performing at Saddlers Wells theatre in the West End, Disneyland Paris and many other exciting opportunities with Starlight Dance Works. I’ve has also competed in many competitions. This passion has now driven me to start my teaching qualifications in dancing and I’ve has enjoyed watching the young students flourish. Outside of dancing I work at a local infants school with key stage 1 children, which I thoroughly enjoy.

Performance Opportunities

We take part in performances locally and we also organise trips away which include taking part in shows in local theatres. All our students are able to take part, whatever their ability. Trips have included the Isle of Wight, Blackpool and Euro Disney. The cost of costumes for these and our own shows is usually met through our varied fundraising events such as family-friendly Bingo, Afternoon teas, Quiz nights and bag packing at local supermarkets.
